Our Story
Engineered Safety Systems, ESS, is proud to announce our entrance into the racing safety market. Founder Trevor Ashline, the inventor of the Hybrid series of Head Restraints and former Simpson VP of Engineering for the past 14 years, has jumped back into the safety restraint world with new and progressive restraints for every form of Motorsport.
ESS has a complete line of Restraints SFI certified to the highest standard in the world, the NASCAR standard SFI 16.6 as well as SFI 16.1 and 16.5 for every type of race car, truck and boat. We have multiple 5, 6, 7 and 9 point restraint systems with innovations and attention to detail to in each assembly. ESS has belt assemblies in the extremely competitive world of NASCAR’s three top tear series as well as Sprint Cars, Midgets, Dirt Late Models, Dirt Modifieds, Monster Trucks, Legends Cars, Experimental Aircraft, Pro Stock, Pro Mods Comp Dragsters and many more!
Trevor Ashline is known worldwide for game changing innovations in Frontal Head Restraints, belts and accessories. With 11 Patents in the field of Head Restraints, many sanctioning bodies as well as SFI and the FIA have relied on the testing and consultations of ESS’s founder to formulate standards for the latest cockpit configurations. We continue this trend with our latest program for NHRA Top Fuel and Funny Car head surrounds.
Our new NHRA Top Fuel and Funny Car head surrounds and Chin Straps take head protection to the next level with the latest in SFI 45.2 Head Impact rated foams and vibration limiting comfort foams. The innovative head protection has already taken the industry by storm after being used by the 2024 Championship winning Funny Car team in NHRA with Austin Prock and Jack Beckman.
